A book lover's paradise by the sea 

Georgina Downes Ballybunion Library sits alone, rather majestically, on the outskirts of the town, perched above a stunning panorama of seemingly endless Atlantic Ocean. The building was once known as St Augustine's, a single-storey, Gothic Revival-style church. What's really interesting is that St Augustine's was originally built at Rattoo, near Ballyduff, in 1879. It stands in Ballybunion today as, in the 1950's, a decision was made to move the entire structure to the resort.
