REHEARSALS are now well underway for the Light Opera Society of Tralee's upcoming production of Broadway smash hit musical The Producers.
The award-winning society, which is an offshoot of the Kerry School of Music and is better known to its fans as LOST, will bring its version of the classic Mel Brooks musical to the stage at Siamsa Tíre for three nights from Thursday February 13 to Saturday February 15.
The show, which features a number of Tralee's best known performers and many familiar faces, is based on the 1968 Gene Wilder movie that tells the tale of a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer who teams up with timid accountant in a get-rich-quick scheme to put on the world's worst musical.
With the curtain due to go up on the show in less than a month the cast and crew are deep in rehearsals under the guidance of director Aidan O'Carroll and choreographer Tara Dore. Aidan said rehearsals are going very well and everything is coming together very quickly ahead of what promises to be an absolutely hilarious show.
