Santa all fired up as he clambers from big red engine
CHILDREN at the Bright Beginnings Pre-School on Church Street were almost as thrilled as their minders and parents when Santa visited them.
The children were waiting on the footpath when, much to their delight, a fire engine passed them with sirens blazing. They heard the "Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas" coming from inside and saw Santa himself waving from the front seat.
Minutes later the big red engine came back, pulled up beside the footpath and out clambered the Man in Red himself. Santa followed the children to their pre-school room in Castleisland Family Resource Centre where he sat for pictures and chatted.
Bright Beginnings opened in 2009 and currently has 19 children enrolled, some full and some part time.
For some of the children it was their first, up-close encounter with the man who will occupy their waking and dreaming moments from here until Christmas Day.
Staff members and dads and moms were delighted with the visit and the all wished to thank the members of the local fire brigade for escorting Santa to the pre-school on the occasion.
