CLASSICAL pianist David Syme will perform works by Beethoven, Gershwin, Debussy, Chopin and Franz Liszt as part of a special recital in Tech Amergin Arts Centre, Waterville, next week.

Originally from the US but now an Irish citizen, he has performed in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Centre, Kennedy Centre, and Wigmore Hall and in major venues in 17 across Europe as well as in Canada and Mexico. He has recorded two dozen CDs with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony and the Czech National Symphony and many of these recordings have been played frequently on RTE Lyric FM.

Since arriving in Ireland in 2005, David has become known for his 'Living-Room Concerts' which are held approximately 20 times a year in his West Cork home on the Beara Peninsula. This series was profiled by Mary Kennedy on RTE Nationwide in 2011 and Christy Moore and Maureen O'Hara are among the celebrities who have attended these events.

David Syme performs at Tech Amergin on Tuesday, July 29, at 8.30pm.
