Music producer brings Cuban flavour to Ireland
A TRALEE music producer is set to bring a little Cuban flavour to the Irish music scene.
IT Tralee Music Technology lecturer Bob Jackson is getting ready for the Irish release of a Cuban album he has spent the last three years producing.
Back in 2009 Bob was enjoying a holiday in Cuba when he met talented 26 year old local musician Erdwin Garcia. The Tralee man and the Cuban singer songwriter quickly became fast friends and Bob subsequently agreed to help Erdwin record his first album.
Bob returned to Trinidad de Cuba in 2011 and the pair began working on the album, Removiendo. After three years of hard work the album has been completed and it's due to be released in Ireland and online next week. To mark the album release Bob has organised a night of music and Cuban themed entertainment at Roundys Bar on Friday, June 27 when everyone will be able to hear and enjoy the fruits of his labours. The album will be on sale on the night and everyone who buys a copy will receive a free mojito cocktail to get them in the Cuban groove.
The launch party, which is free and open to all, kicks off at around 8.30pm and is sure to go on well into the night.
