CUTE animals, loved pets, children and adults gathered together in Lisselton on Saturday last for a 'Family Fun Day and Rock Night' in aid of Irish animal charities.
The fun day saw children with their faces painted, excitement and fun on the bouncing castle and craft stalls for all ages to admire. There was also a slow bike race that got everyone's adrenaline pumping.
'Bessie' the English Springer was the proud winner of the dog show and beat off stiff competition from other very beautiful and talented hounds. All dogs, big and small, must be commended for taking part in such hot weather.
Tomasins Bar in Lisselton was the main stage for this charity event. The bar was literally rocking from eight until late with the night activities. Over 250 people attended the Rock Night with spot prizes galore and some very entertaining air guitar contestants.
"The day went very well. It was awful hot but we are all delighted with the turnout," said a spokesperson for the event. "It's such a deserving cause as it will help abandoned, neglected and abused animals in Ireland."
Hosted by the Mad Muttz Motor Cycle Club, funds are still being counted from all the events and various animal charities will benefit from this jam-packed and animal loving day.
