RUAIRI'S in Tralee will host young musician, Daithí O'Dronai performing on the electronic synthesised fiddle on Friday, November 6.
A hit at the Electric Picnic this summer, 19 year old O'Dronai started his musical career at a young age playing traditional fiddle in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.
Daithí's early teenage years were spent playing bass guitar, and he has played with local bands Keepsake and with The Shackletons. Eventually Daithí returned to playing the fiddle, but now in a unique way, using loops and sound layers to create original pieces of music.
O'Dronai's unusual style was a hit on the All-Ireland Talent Show earlier this year and brought his music to a countrywide audience. This show led to appearances on Seoige, Ice, and Access All Areas.
Over the last year Daithi has performed in various venues from the Kings Head to the Roisin Dubh and the Punchestown Racing Festival.
He has also appeared at Vicar Street in Dublin playing support to Kila, in the Button Factory in Temple Bar, and recently headlined at The Pavilion theatre in Cork.
The gig starts at 9.30pm and admission is free.
Daithi's a performance in Ruairi's Bar promises to be an exciting and energetic one, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
