'Crime boss' Nidge in town to cheer on Ardfert hurlers
IRELAND'S most shady 'crime boss' got to see what real hard men could do with a hurley when he visited Ardfert at the weekend.
No blood was spilt though - well not intentionally in any event!
Love/Hate kingpin Nidge - actor Tom Vaughan Lawlor in real life - was in Ardfert to savour the sweet aftermath of the village's victory in the hurling senior county final.
Down visiting his father Tom, who lives in nearby Ballyroe, he was swamped by fans at every turn and gathered up in the mighty celebrations after St Brendan's historic hurling victory over Lixnaw.
"It added great excitement to the village to have Nidge celebrating the county final win with us over the two nights he was down!" St Brendan's Chairman Justin Horgan said.
Justin Horgan Junior was among the many locals inducted into Nidge's new Kerry gang over the two nights' revellery in another aspect of Ardfert's winning weekend that will be remembered for a long time.
No cats were harmed in the county final celebrations!
