TALENTED Tralee singer Cormac Lawlor will be taking to the stage in Siamsa Tíre next month in what will be his first major hometown gig since he turned professional.
Cormac, who is a bass baritone opera singer, recently made his first professional appearance as a member of the chorus at the Wexford Opera Festival.
Next month, on December 10 to be exact, he'll be taking his first professional bow in Tralee when he performs at the Sing and Be Merry Christmas concert that has been organised by the Irish Opera Theatre Company.
Cormac, a student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and a member of the OTC Young Associate Artist Programme, is fast earning a reputation as one of the country's brightest upcoming opera stars. He may, however, be more familiar to Kerry audiences thanks to his numerous award winning performances at various Feiseanna Ceol across the county.
