Coláiste na Ríochta put finishing touches to play

A night of 'side-splitting' comedy is on the cards for St John's shortly as a group of young local actors bring their version of a hilarious play to the stage.

A Wake in the West will be staged by Coláiste na Ríochta students at St John's on Thursday, March 30, at 7.30pm and the young thespians are very nearly there with the whole production now.

They're already rolling in the aisles in the school as the story of Tome Healy's demise and desire to be buried in his favourite substance - the drink - takes shape in dress rehearsals.

Students John McCarthy, Donal Kelly, Tara Downey, Emilia Girasole, Aaron Broderick, Michael Hennessy, Diarmuid McDonnell, Darragh Mulvihill and Rose Warwick are the talents behind the piece, working very hard under teacher Mollie Burke, to the point where they even came in during midterms and after school to get it down to a tee.
