SUCH was the success of the sell out show 'The Pimple' during its Abbeydorney debut at the weekend that the cast has agreed to return to the stage for one final performance this Sunday night, February 17.
The show opened to a packed house in Abbeydorney Hall on Friday night, with another sell out show two nights later. However, unprecedented demand for tickets meant that dozens of locals and visitors were disappointed. To cater for those who missed the hilarious show, the cast will put on one final performance this Sunday at 8pm.
Penned by a publicity-shy writer known only as 'The Scribe of Mweengwee,' the story follows the travails of John Joe Gilhooley who is sorely afflicted by a persistent protrusion in the nether regions. His wife Maggie May is driven mad with worry and enlists the help of friends, neighbours and a range of professionals, with hilarious consequences.
Among the cast taking to the stage for Sunday night's re-run will be Siobhan Keane, Brendan O Halloran, John Lawlor, John Breen, Mary Nolan, Cecelia Conway., Maura O'Sullivan, Sonny Egan and Killahan NS principal Gerard Doyle, who is organising the event with the others as a fundraiser for the school.
