IT'S confirmed. Well-known Tralee singer and stage performer Alan Teahan is officially, The Man.
Alan, known far and wide for his performances with Siamsa Tíre and Tralee Musical Society, as well in as in many pantomimes down the years, has been cast in the lead role of 'The Man' in the award winning musical society's next production, 'Whistle Down The Wind'.
The show, based on the novel of the same name by Mary Hayley Bell, is set in small town Louisiana in 1959 and tells the tale of the aforementioned 'Man' an escaped convict who is mistaken for a resurrected Jesus by the archly conservative town's children.
Filling out the rest of the lead roles are Janna Foley playing Swallow, Niall O'Brien in the role of Amos, Mike Lynch as Boone, Tim Moran as Ed, Bryan Carr as the ominously named Snake Preacher and Aaron McLaren as Earl.
The society is already deep in rehearsal for the show which will run at Siamsa Tíre for five nights from Tuesday, March 11 to Saturday, March 15.
