Shining a light on life of the Star

There's a photo in Kieran Donaghy's autobiography that tells you 'Star' was always destined to be up close to the action. It's 1987 in Fitzgerald Stadium and the fervour of a Munster Final is in full swing. The picture shows a grimacing Pat Spillane being helped to his feet by Jack O'Shea. A few feet away along the sideline - in the thick of the action - sits a four-year-old Kieran Donaghy taking it all in his stride and few could have thought one day this photo would feature three All-Ireland winners instead of two.
