Youths Under-18s march on in cup
THE WEXFORD Youths Under-18s reached the third round of the Leinster Youth Cup recently with a 6-0 win over Parkville in Tullow.
It was a game closer than it sounds, which was still 1-0 with 30 minutes left. Jason McHugh got the Youths off to a perfect start, scoring in the first minute, latching on to a header from Eoin Dunne.
It took an hour before the same player grabbed a second, and it was game over. Further goals were added by Donal Shanley, Darryl Power, Dale Scallan and Cian Rogers.
Some extra spice was added to the game as former Youths player Conor McCarney, who starred in last year's All-Ireland final, was playing for Parkville. Tony Smith did a good job of minding him.
