IRISH GOALKEEPING legend Packie Bonner will be in Heathpark next week as he teams up with UPMC Beacon, operators of the UMPC Beacon outreach centre in Wexford town and several other healthcare facilities around the country, including the Beacon Hospital in Dublin and the Whifield Cancer Centre in Waterford.
The man who made the most famous save in Irish soccer history, when he stopped Daniel Timofte's penalty in the shoot-out against Romania in Italia '90, will join the UPMC team at their outdoor exhibition from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on the Wednesday of the championships (September 26), and all are welcome to come and meet him. One lucky visitor to the stand will also win a fantastic hotel stay worth €500 through a free draw that will be operated there. UPMC Beacon Chartered Physiotherapists will be on hand over the three days to discuss injury prevention and management and will offer simple fitness tests for the over 189,000 expected visitors to the three day exhibition and trade show. UPMC Beacon Physiotherapists will also offer free Gait analysis for visitors. This simple analysis provides essential information on a person's running style, which will enable them to select the right shoes for running and to minimise the risk of
injury. The UPMCBeacon stand will be No. 729, Row V - Block 1, Unit 15 in
the Health and Wellness Zone.
