Finalising U-16 squad was tough task

IT HAS not been easy picking this year's Under-16 squad, and it is important for me to admit that I do not get it right all the time, in fact I'm sure that I make mistakes every year,

To minimise the amount of error, this season I have had four trials over four weekends and as well as marking each player every day, I have also had the benefit of four other people marking the players on different days.

I know that it means a lot for each player to be picked and I know how disappointing it must be for those who I do not select.

To all those, I want to say sorry for disappointing you, and given that 75 different players came for trials, I realise that I have upset a lot more than I have pleased.

If I have missed some good players, I do hope that they will come to my attention at some stage during the season and I will take another look at them.

Here is the full squad which I have selected to represent their county in forthcoming competitive action:

Aaron Maddock, Darragh Rossiter, Darragh Kenny, Graham Holmes, Jack Murphy (Forth Celtic); Adam Prendergast, Corey Doran (Duncannon); Ryan Cullen, Eric Quinn, Conor Gibson, Killian Cushe, Daniel Brennan, Eoin McGuckin (Gorey Rangers); Danny Brimson (Caim United); Conor Sutton (Curracloe United); Amjad Yousif, Jesse Farrell, Micheál Bergin, Shane Bates (North End United); Eoin McDonald (Wexford Celtic), Jack Foran, Eoin Cummins (Ross Celtic); Ian Carty (Taghmon United); Ciarán Finn, Ross Moore (Gorey Celtic); Podge Doyle (Shamrock Rovers).
