Doyle to miss two qualifiers

WEXFORD SOCCER star Kevin Doyle will be a notable absentee on Friday next after injury ruled him out of Ireland's home World Cup qualifier against Germany.

Manchester United winger Robbie Brady has been drafted in as a replacement after it was confirmed that Doyle will miss the action. He will also be a frustrated spectator for the away clash against the Faroe Islands on Monday.

Manager Giovanni Trapattoni turned to the 20year-old after a scan on the thigh injury Doyle suffered in training with Wolves on Friday revealed the full extent of the damage.

Sunderland's David Meyler, son of Tacumshane native and new Carlow Senior hurling boss John Meyler, has also been called up to the squad.
