Competitive cricket returns to Gorey

Competitive cricket will soon return to the Gorey area after a lapse of more than 40 years. The first match will be played against Castleknock on April 30.

Gorey Cricket Club will hold a registration and information evening in The Loch gCarman Arms, Gorey, on Wednesday, March 29, at 8 p.m.

Players who want to be considered for selection are invited to register. Those interested are asked to bring €15 and a passport photograph.

Chairman Al Fitzgerald said the club welcomes anyone interested in playing cricket, competitively or socially to coach; umpire matches; or to keep score. All abilities, ages, and interests welcome.
