Tickets are selling fast for the Spiegeltent
TICKETS are selling fast for the 2013 Spiegeltent Festival which packs 19 acts into 21 shows over 12 very busy days.
With capacities of 800 standing (plus seated booths) or 450 seated, the number of tickets already sold is a clear that this year's festival is hitting all the right notes, the most recent addition of '60s minstel Donovan among them.
Bryan Byrne of Lantern.ie, the organisers of the Spiegeltent, said 70 per cent of tickets had already been sold for some of the headline acts.
The best advice is don't delay and book early to avoid disappointment.
Bryan described the Spiegeltent as 'very much a community fesival'.
'Ninety per cent of our customers are from Wexford town and county,' he said.
Although the Spiegeltent message is now spreading beyond our shores.
Bryan said that a promotion with leading ferry company Stenaline.ie, had resulted in bookings from Wales for the 2013 festival.
'It's gained a lot of traction in Wales, so we will have international visitors as well this year,' he said.
'We have two main aims: To provide the people of Wexford with the type of entertainment they would normally have to travel to see and to attract people to the town for the benefit of the business community,' he said.
The Spiegeltent Festival runs from Wednesday, October 23 to Sunday, November 3. The tent arrives on the Quay from Holland this Thursday and will be erected well in advance of opening night.
