Thunder, lightning, and some very heavy showers, didn't deter the large crowds that flocked along to the annual open day at Camphill Duffcarrig recently.

Thanks to the increased support this year, the event raised an impressive €5,145 to help fund the valuable work at the community. The open day, and the annual Advent sale, are the two main annual fundraisers at the community which is home to 24 residents.

Sarah Mulligan of Camphill Duffcarrig said that the service is underfunded, so they need any help the can get. Volunteers are also welcome to offer their time and talent at Duffcarrig.

Guests enjoyed a barbecue, coffee, tea, cakes, children's activities and games, and bought crafts created by the Camphill residents including pottery and weaving. Other local craft workers also sold their goods on the day and made a donation to the centre.

Sincere thanks went to all who supported the event. All other fundraising offers and support is most welcome.
