A highlight on the dramatic calendar in recent years has been the Kilrush Drama Group's autumn play.

This year's production doesn't disappoint as the group presents 'The Last of the Last of the Mohicans' which got underway in the newly renovated Ballyroebuck Hall last night (Monday) and will run until Saturday November 2.

The group is delighted with his year's choice Hugh Leonard's hilarious one act comedy. Set in a Dublin suburb, the play is a comedy of errors which tracks Dominic's efforts to carry on an affair with Grace while his wife, Ita, is away on a pilgrimage. As with all good comedies, nothing ever goes to plan. Throw into the mix the hapless friend, Finbar, the unexpected return of Ita and a Baggage Handler's strike in Heathrow Airport, and you are in for a chaotic night of ducking and diving, lies upon more lies and the affair that never quite happens. The cast will feature: Maurice Ruth, Joe Sinnott, Cathy Tighe, Margaret Nolan and Owen Doyle.

Audiences can also look forward to a variety show on the night with comedy sketches and songs featuring Martin Hayden, Anna Hennessy, Michael Kelly, Tom Culkin, Seamus Burnell, Margaret Dowse, Jane Kinsella and Jose Dowse. Booking is essential and tickets can be reserved by calling 087 142 9325.
