Gorey native Lynda Cullen has just released her new album 'Paper Boat' following a wonderful show at The Pavillion in Cork, where she is now based.
Having enjoyed a successful launch, Lynda is looking forward to a nationwide tour and a return to her hometown of Gorey. Lynda released her first solo EP, 'The Orange Tree', in September 2008 and it went down to extremely favourable reviews with Hot Press Magazine among them. Since then, she has gone on to win a loyal fan base on the live music scene in Cork and throughout the country.
Over the past four years, Lynda has performed at various folk festivals and shows in Austria, Germany, Sweden and the UK and shared a stage with such notable acts as Peter Mulvey, Damien Dempsey, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Mary Coughlan and Altan.
As a member of the band Second Moon, Lynda spent five years in South Korea, where their debut album picked up three awards at the 2006 Korean Real Music Awards.
Having attended a three-year course in Music, Performance & Production at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa in Cork, Lynda has now recorded her debut solo album with Christian Best who notably produced Mick Flannery's 'Red to Blue' album.
Now Lynda is looking forward to entertaining a home crowd with her hometown album launch in Katie Daly's on May 16. Local songwriter Chris Gethings will provide support on the night and doors will open from 8:30 p.m.
