THERE was a full house at Craanford Church last week as Liam Lawton gave a spellbinding performance of some of his most famous hymns and some of his favourite songs.

He treated the appreciative audience to some of the stories behind the songs during the concert. 'The music was superb,' said Margaret Doyle, who was one of those in attendance. 'Everyone enjoyed it.'

Liam performed many of his well known hymns including 'The Cloud's Veil' and he also included popular songs such as 'Danny Boy.'

Complimentary tea and cakes were served afterwards, and Liam spent time chatting with the audience and signing CDs.

There was a special guest performance on the night by Cathal Murphy from Camolin, a 16 year old Gorey Community School student, and he was very well received.

The event was organised as a fundraiser for the Strictly Come Dancing efforts of Aileen and John Bailey, and a huge thank you was sent to all who supported.

Thanks were also sent to Liam, his band, and to Fr. Doyle for the use of the church.
