The Battle of the Bann was fought in front of a hug crowd in The Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, recently. The white collar boxing night saw novice boxers take to the ring to raise funds for the Craanford underpass and St. Patrick's GAA Club, Camolin.

A total of ten fights took place - nine male fights and one female fight. Unfortunately, two fights were unable to go ahead due to injuries. When the dust settled, Craanford won on a narrow scoreline of 5.5 to 4.5. Boxers Niall Berney, Sean Byrne, Oliver Doran, Sarah Lifley, John Fleming, and Ciaran Kenny helped secure victory for Craanford.

Thanks went to MC Joe Sullivan, and to Donal Kenny and Jack Redmond for their entertaining commentary after each fight. Both groups thanked the mentors, all who supported the event, and the 24 boxers who gave so much of their time, energy, and commitment.
