AN ENNISCORTHY teenager charged with an assault that caused a broken wrist appeared before the District Court last week. Adam O'Connor (19) from 14 Slí an Uisce faced an allegation dating back to St. Patrick's Day last.
Garda Inspector Pat Cody said evidence could be produced to support the contention that O'Connor followed the injured party down Slaney Street. At the bottom of the street, according to the inspector, he threw one punch which put the injured party on the ground.
The accused said he was earning €500 weekly and Judge Gerard Haughton advised him that he would have to pay for his own solicitor before adjourning until the new year.
