Leading fashion model Teodora Sutra has been speaking out about how the trauma of losing her nine-year-old sister Gabby in an Enniscorthy house fire has affected her family.
Gabby – full name Gabriella Gruznova – perished in the fire at Clohass in September along with Philomena O'Rourke.
In a 'Sunday Independent' interview published at the weekend, the Latvian born model said the family headed by her mother artist Zane Sutra tries to celebrate the life of the deceased, who was a pupil at St. Mary's national school.
'Whenever I speak to my mum, we speak about Gabby all the time because it makes her feel better,' Teodora told the paper. 'Even though it upsets her, it makes her feel better.'
She also revealed that Gabby was a talented artist and, despite her tender age, she left behind many drawings and paintings.
Her work is due to go on show in the children's gallery at the newly built national gallery of Latvia when it opens later this year.
'Even though she was so talented in art, she never wanted to be an artist,' revealed her older sibling. 'She wanted to be a model, like me.'
