Limited funds available to tackle local flooding

SOME LIMITED Government funds are available to tackle local flooding, director of water services Eddie Taaffe told councillors.

He noted that the Office of Public Works made money available to deal with a flooding point in the north of Gorey town and also to cure a problem in Castlebridge. The OPW also chipped in to help pay for recent repair work carried out at the flood wall close to Wexford bridge.
