Killowen Farm takes home 16 gold stars

WEXFORD yogurt producer Killowen Farm is the cream of the crop after winning 16 gold stars in this year's Great Taste Awards. The successful farm business run by the Dunne family was awarded the accolades for 10 of its 100% natural products.

The company's Wexford Blackcurrant, Lemon Curd and Blueberry glass jar yogurts received two gold stars each while the Strawberry and Wexford Rhubarb flavours won one gold star each.

Four yogurts produced by Killown for Dunnes Stores, Aldi and SuperValu won seven gold stars and the company's Simply Better Whiskey Cream for Dunnes Stores also won a gold star.

The Great Taste Awards are an accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers in Ireland the the UK and are judged by a large panel of blind-tasting food critics, chefs, food writers and members of the Women's Institute.
