THREE people were rushed to hospital last Thursday following a head-on collision at Knockmullen outside Gorey.

The collision occurred on the Gorey side of the Ballycanew Road roundabout at midday, when the two cars met on the straight stretch of road. They then crashed into the opposing verges, with one of the vehicles hitting a low wall.

Gardaí sealed off the road until 2.30 p.m. to investigate the cause of the crash.

A woman in one of the vehicles, was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital in Dublin with serious injuries, while the two occupants of the other car, had to be cut from their vehicle, and they were then rushed to Wexford General Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

All three were reported to be in a stable condition the following day.

The road conditions were damp on the day, and Gorey Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
