HARDY SOULS will be found on Duncannon Beach this St. Stephen's morning bracing themselves for a dip in the icy cold waters.
This is the second year running that Duncannon FC has decided to hold a traditional Christmas Swim, following the success of last year's inaugural event.
The brainchild of Club Chairperson Padraig Doran, last year's swim, which was held on New Year's Day, saw fifteen players, committee members and club supporters run into the freezing waters of Duncannon Beach and stay in the water for as long as they could - a half a minute to a minute at most!
Taking place on a what was a glorious winter's day, the beach was filled with onlookers all showing their support for the brave swimmers.
Afterwards, the swimmers quickly retreated to the warm environs of the Strand Tavern to thaw out over hot ports.
To suit the tides, this year's swim will be taking place on St. Stephen's Day at 3.30 p.m. The daring ladies of Seaview Celtic will also be taking a dip and joining in the fun.
It is hoped the event will attract double the numbers and raise funds for the clubs.
