THE musical spirit of the hit television show 'Glee' was brought to life at Gorey Community School last week, when a group of visiting American performers gave a workshop to over 200 students.

The workshop of music, song and dance, organised by music teacher Sara Clancy, was presented by The Young Americans, a group of talented and exceptional Americans ranging from 18 to 24.

The group is credited with creating the very popular 'Glee' and 'Choir-Show' concepts with which many young people are now familiar. They have performed for Presidents and Heads of State; won an Academy Award; been on national and international television numerous times; and performed for millions of people worldwide.

The 45 visitors were hosted locally by students' families, and the amazingly energetic workshop was deemed to be one of the musical highlights of the year according all involved.

Principal, Michael Finn praised the wonderful enthusiasm of the many talented students at Gorey Community School and said he hoped this won't be the last time the school has the opportunity to work with this dynamic group.
