FINE GAEL European election candidate, Simon Harris TD, kicked off his campaign by visiting two businesses in Gorey last week to listen to their views on the issues they face in creating jobs.

Accompanied by Senator Michael D'Arcy, and local election candidate Councillor Darren Keegan, the Wicklow TD visited Weatherglaze and Silawrap in the town.

He met the owners and management, as well as workers who outlined their views on job creation and the economy.

Weatherglaze employs 70 people, while 45 people are employed at Silawrap.

The candidate heard that support from Europe as well as taxation issues will affect the growth prospects of both businesses.
