YOUTH is finally hoping to overcome experience in the annual Ballygarrett Realt na Mara GAA Club novelty match on St. Stephen's Day, at 12 noon.

The Under 30s, captained this year by Jack Hobbs and James Gahan, will take on the reigning and undefeated Over 30s, captained this year by Eddie Redmond, who must be feeling the pressure to maintain an unblemished Over 30s record in this, the fifth year of the novelty challenge.

Word has it that many have commenced training in the Club Gym, the local beaches, kettle bells and even a few have taken up yoga in preparation of this prestigious challenge.

Whatever the outcome, this challenge promises to be a fun packed event as the support and interest grows year on year. There will be mulled wine on the sidelines of what will surely be a packed free of charge event. Arrive early to ensure a good vantage point.

The underage members will take part in a novelty penalty shootout at half time and rumour has it that the Ladies' Club will have cheer leading or some entertainment also.

Hot soup and refreshments will be served in the Clubhouse before the presentation of the winners' trophy which will surely result in dressing room bragging rights for the year ahead for the victors.

To play, please contact the captains Jack Hobbs 085 8180059 James Gahan 087 6390576 for the under 30s or Eddie Redmond, the over 30s Captain on 087 6834731.
