Young performers who danced for a dream hand over cheque

Lil Kavanagh and Caroline Fleming present the €930 cheque to Emma Sweeney and Rory Kavanagh of Share A Dream.

YOUNG performers put their talents to good use to help fulfil the dreams of terminally ill children during the summer, and the fruits of their efforts were recently handed over to the Share a Dream Foundation.

A cheque for €930 was handed over by Caroline Fleming to Emma Sweeney of Share a Dream following the successful 'Dancing for a Dream Come True' show in Gorey Little Theatre during 2012.

Caroline said that talent from across the South East performed in the show, which was filled with dance, singing and entertainment, and a full house thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

'It was great,' she said. 'All the money will go directly to fulfil the dreams of children with terminal illnesses. A big thank-you to everybody involved, especially those who helped out, and who entertained on stage.'

As choreographer for the show, Caroline found that the level of talent locally was 'amazing'. 'People aged from three to 23 took part,' she said.

This was the eighth annual show, and in that time, around €8,000 has been raised for Share a Dream, and plans are already afoot for the 2013 show.
