According to Gardaí at least seven cars have been broken into in the area in recent days, with the targets varying from handbags, cash, jewellery to electronic items such as phones.

A Garda spokesman said, 'We would ask people to keep all of their valuables out of sight when locking up their car and also we would ask them to keep an eye out for anybody who may be monitoring them as they park their car.'
