THERE were plenty of dodgy hairdos as a Gorey group undertook a 'Shave or Dye' event to raise money for the Irish Cancer society recently.

The group sacrificed their hair, both dying and shaving, in memory of Sean Carroll, Larry Morgan and Nadine Gray all of whom passed away from cancer, as well as all of the people who are fighting the disease worldwide.

A total of 15 people took part on the night with most of them opting for the dye. Anthony and Ellen Casey showed their bravery by opting to have their heads shaved by JJ Larking from Mastercut Barbers.

Anthony opted to have his whole head shaved while Ellen shaved the back of hers.

In total the event managed to raise €255 and the group were delighted to be able to help out with an extremely worthy cause.

The organisers of the event were keen to thank everyone who took part on the night and contributed in any way.
