THE ST. Aidan's Roses are currently organising various fundraisers for St. Aidan's Services as they bid to become St. Aidan's Rose.
The competition will culminate in a Gala Night in the Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, on Friday, November 30, at 7 p.m., Tickets at €10 are on sale from St. Aidan's.
The winner will be selected using various criteria, including their interview on stage; the amount they fundraise; the number of phone votes they receive; and how well they get on in an interview with the three judges in the weeks before the grand final.
Gorey's Kiera Byrne, who was a contestant on the TV talent show ' The Voice of Ireland', is representing Gorey Business Park. To raise funds for St. Aidan's, she has roped in the support of some of her former fellow contestants, and they will make an appearance at ' The Voice of St. Aidan's' on Friday, November 16 next.
Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are €10 for adults, and €5 for children.
A clothes swap day, where you bring five items of clothing or jewellery and swap them for five items, at €10, takes place in the Loch gCarman Arms, from 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 24. This is organised by the St. Aidan's Garden Centre Rose.
A Catherine Fulvio Cookery Demonstration will take place on Wednesday, November 28, in the Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey. Local producers will put on a display from 6.30 p.m. and the cookery demonstration will start at 7.30 p.m. sharp. There's also a cheese and wine reception on arrival. The event is organised by the Noirin's Bakehouse Rose, and tickets at €20 are available from St. Aidan's, Noirin's Bakehouse, and Sugar and Spice, Bunclody.
