'Lucky 21' hospital team bags €25,000 in Lottery
A SYNDICATE of 21 healthcare assistants and nurses have picked up a tidy sum of €25,000 after matching five numbers in the national Lottery.
The Wednesday draw produced the lucrative win for the group, who all work on the Elm ward at St. John's Hospital.
Nurse Kathleen Sinnott was the one nominated to collect the cheque at the lottery headquarters in Dublin where she posed happily for a photograph with champagne glass in hand. The precious ticket bought at the Eurospar in Bunclody came good after seven years of trying by the syndicate.
'With Christmas coming up, and some people planning holidays, the money will be a nice help to us all,' Kathleen Sinnott told the lottery officials as she pocketed the winnings, worth €1,190.48 each to the members, who are aged across the range from late 20s to late 50s.
