The craic was ninety in The Courtyard in Ferns as the Ballyduff Development Group hosted its annual barbecue. The evening was a big hit and saw a great attendance with the Lip Sync battle drawing particular attention after last year's legendary performance from Johnny Logan and the Loganettes in "Stars in Your Eyes".

This year proved every bit as entertaining with live music from Last Orders and a collection of local artists introduced on the night by MC Brian McDonald. Competition proved to be extremely high for the lip sync battle and the audience were in stitches as the acts took the stage. It's not often that you'd see bearded ladies, Pat Shortt and The Spice Girls all sharing the one stage in Ferns! The performance which really captured the imagination however, was Pat Shortt's "Jumbo Breakfast Roll", undertaken by a wonderfully costumed Kevin Walker who was eventually declared the winner.

The evening was said to be a big success and the funds raised will go a long way towards helping with the group's mission of keeping Ballyduff beautiful with a number of projects in the pipeline. The group wished to thank Last Orders and all the other performers, Brian McDonald, Liam Hayden, The Courtyard and everyone who volunteered or helped out in any way. For more information on upcoming projects, visit the Ballyduff Development Group Facebook page.
