Fantastic fun in the sun at Camphill fundraiser
THE CAMPHILL Community Open Day at Duffcarraig is always an opportunity for local people, and holidaymakers who stay in the Ballymoney area, to show their support for the hard working community.
It's thought that up to 600 people went along in fine sunshine for the annual fundraiser, and everyone at Camphill was delighted to see so many families enjoying all the food and games.
'There was a wonderful atmosphere,' said John Bird of Camphill. 'We sold crafts made here, including pottery, weaving, and craft work, and we also sold cakes made here in the kitchen. Local crafts people and producers also came in and sold their goods, donating the proceeds to us, which was very welcome.
Other locals ran pony rides and other activities to help raise additional funds for the running of the community.
A farm display was also of great interest to the visitors, and children got the chance to name a recently born calf.
The raffle was also well supported, while hot waffles were the biggest seller on the day. Thanks were sent to all who supported the event.
