Course focuses on role of religion in the modern world

Published 14/01/2014 | 05:34

PEOPLE of all Christian denominations are invited to join a course starting soon at the County Wexford education centre beside Enniscorthy Vocational College.

The plan is to explore faith in a simple, social, relaxed and non-threatening way over ten Wednesday night sessions asking questions about Jesus, prayer and the role of religion in the modern world.

Such Alpha courses, using the scriptures as a base, take place all over the world, in parishes, schools, factories and even prisons. The Enniscorthy version starts on Wednesday, January 22, running from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. with participants asked to make a small contribution towards tea/coffee.

To book a place, contact St. Aidan's cathedral parish office or Marie O' Tiarnaigh (087)4166630 or Kate O'Leary (087)2945773. To find out more please go to Alpha Ireland website @
