Yoga for Teens

Help to release some of that exam year tension and take an actual break over the Easter holidays, even if it's just for two hours. Yoga and Relaxation for teens classes will be held in CroiYoga Studio, Main Street, Bunclody on Easter Saturday, Saturday, April 15, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., costs €20. John-John Hogan r.i.p.

The community was saddened to hear the death of John-John Hogan, Old Forest, Bunclody, who passed away on March 14. Sadly missed by his loving wife Antoinette, daughter May, mother Bridget, brothers and sisters, Charlie, Mary, Kathleen, Peadar, Ger, Martina, Shelly and Jimmy, parents-in-law, Paul and Una Murphy, extended family, neighbours, work colleagues and friends.

Funeral Mass took place on March 17, in the Most Holy Trinity Church, Bunclody, followed by burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Bunclody. May he rest in peace.

Parent/Child Group

A parent and Child Group meetsevery Wednesday from 10 a.m. to midday in St Aidan's Hall, Irish Street, Bunclody. Admission is €3 which includes tea or coffee/Biscuit for the parents and juice/fruit for the little people. For more information, please contact Marianne at 087 9026986.

Easter Treasure Hunt

At Huntington Castle we are looking forward to Easter this year with a return to our golden nugget treasure hunt from Saturday, April 15, to Monday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Each child will receive a basket and set of clues to help them gather the nuggets hidden around the garden. There will be lots of exploring in the Wilderness and Gardens with possibly some surprises along the way and then a triumphant return to the Courtyard to claim their chocolate gift. There is limited availability so don't leave it too late.

Festival of Crafts

Festival of crafts and Demonstrations 2017, in Conjunction with Carlow County Council, will hold demonstrations of weaving, spinning, arts and crafts on Saturday, May 6, at the Weavers' Cottages, Clonegal. Free Admission, donations accepted.

TAEs School of Dancing

TAEs School of dancing is held every Wednesday night, in Conway's function room from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Cost:€10 per person, no partner required. Daffodil Day 2017

The local organisers of Daffodil Day 2017 would like thank you so much for supporting this annual event, local people came together to stop cancer by selling daffodils on the streets, as well as hosting events in their communities and workplace. Thank you once again for your hard work and fantastic support. Total funds raised in Cloughbawn was €630.

Split-the-pot

The winner of split-the-pot drawn in the Boro Inn was Bridget Ffrench Raheen, The pot was €360, envelopes available at local business and Post Office.

Meals on Wheels

Table quiz

Wexford Academy dancers are holding a table quiz in Byrne's Lounge, Bree on Thursday, April 13, at 9 p.m. in aid of their Costume Fund. All support appreciated.

Community Games

The Community Games County Talent Competition for under-12s and under-16s takes place in Bree Hall on Saturday, May 13, Competitors from Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn parishes are invited to take part. Events are solo and group dancing, singing, music and drama. Entries must be with the area sec by April 28 Please check with the area sec Clare at 087 4151350 or the Community Games website under Resources/Rule Book of each event. The local Athletic Finals will take place on Thursday, May 11.

Kiltealy/Ballindaggin

Spring Clean

The annual spring clean will take place in Ballindaggin on Saturday, April 8, and your support is needed to litter pick along the roadsides of Ballindaggin. Will meet at the church car park at 9.30 a.m. to collect bags, gloves and litter pickers to begin the clean-up. Alternatively collect equipment at Jordan's shop and contribute at a time that suits you. All collected litter to be left at 'The Scales'.

Dance

Dancing in Kiltealy Community Hall on Easter Sunday night, April 16, to the music of Pat Daly. Admission €8, dancing from 9.30 p.m.

This is a fundraising dance for the Irish fishing team who are taking part in the world championships in France in the summer as Seán Cushen, Kiltealy is a team member.

Split the pot

Winner of Kiltealy NS split-the-pot last week was Martin O'Connor, Ballycrystal, who won €211. Play split-the-pot every week, envelopes available locally. Many thanks for your continued support.

The next clothes recycle at Kiltealy NS will be on Monday, May 8, The school shelter will be open the previous week during school hours to facilitate drop off of clothes.

St Colman's NS

The parents' council of Ballindaggin NS would like to thank all who supported the social dancing night in the Millrace Hotel last week. A great night was had by all and over €1,000 was raised for the building fund. Thanks again to everyone.

Duffry Rovers Lotto

The numbers drawn last week were 5, 18, 24 and 30. Congratulations to jackpot winner Adrian Dunne c/o Lisa Frayne, who scooped the jackpot of €3,800 last week. No match three. Lucky-dip winners were Terry Barnes, Ann Walsh and Ann Murphy. The draw tonight (Tuesday. Apl. Fourth) is in Jordan's, Ballindaggin. The jackpot is €1,500.

Social and Tea

The monthly social and tea will be held in Rathanna Community Hall on Sunday night next April 9 with music by 'Midnight Sound'. Admission €8.

Table Quiz

The Duffry Rovers annual table quiz will be held in Ballindaggin Community Hall on Good Friday night, April 14, at 9.30 p.m. 100 general knowledge questions. Teams of four adults €40, students teams €20, includes tea and biscuits.

The proceeds of the night will go towards the underage 14 hurlers who are taking part in the Féile in June. The Féile will be held in counties Wexford, Carlow and Kilkenny. Duffry Rovers will club will host a team from Co. Antrim during the games.

Sympathy

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the late Patrick (Paddy) Flynn, Ballinlug West, Killanne, who died on Wednesday, March 29, To his sister Kitty and extended family, neighbours and friends we extend our deepest sympathy. Paddy's wife Sylvia pre-deceased him in January 2010. Interment took place in Kiltealy Cemetery on Saturday last following funeral Mass in Kiltealy Church. May he rest in peace.

Best Marching Band

Congratulations to Ballindaggin Pipe Band on winning the trophy for the best marching band at the St Patrick's Day parade in Enniscorthy.

Congratulations to the boys and girls in fifth and sixth class who made their Confirmation on Thursday last, March 30. The children will get their Easter Holidays on Friday next, April 7. We will end the term with an Easter Egg hunt and lots of fun Easter activities. Coffee morning.

There will be a coffee morning in aid of Hospice in Marshalstown Community Centre on Wednesday, April 5, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Benefit Night

Castledockrell United AFC are holding a Benefit Night in aid of the players injury fund in Ballycarney Inn on Saturday, April 15, at 9 p.m. Raffle and door prizes on the night. Music by Stuart Anderson. Tickets at €5 each are available from all players and committee members.
