Agnes Freeman (back row, centre) receives a presentation from Janett Levingstone and Marie Dignan after a retirement function held in Katie Daly’s in Gorey with some of her co-workers and fellow volunteers from the NCBI charity shop.

THE VOLUNTEERS at the NCBI charity shop in Gorey bade farewell recently to Agnes Freeman who has worked as manager at the shop for the past seven years.

The team of 18 volunteers joined her in Katie Daly's for a meal to mark her retirement after many happy years at the shop, and they wished her well for the future, and a long and happy retirement.

Agnes thanked them for all their good wishes and loyalty over the years, and she also thanked the customers of the busy shop and all those who gave donations. The NCBI Shop, formerly Mrs. Quin's, raises money for the NCBI which supports those with sight loss. The shop moved back to its traditional home in Market Square, Gorey, last year, and is still inviting donations of good clean clothnig and other items.
