€1,100 raised for Crumlin kids

AN IMPRESSIVE €1,100 was raised through a Concert for Crumlin in St. Joseph's CBS in Gorey over the holiday season.

Talented young local musicians put on a fine performance of traditional airs and seasonal tunes and they were joined by guest performers Spraoi and singers from St. Michael's Folk Group for the show. Jackie, Shane, Laura and Michael Cushe and Ben O'Connor also performed a few numbers for the appreciative audience.

Jackie Cushe was delighted with how the event went. 'Ever since my nephew Jack was sick four years ago, we've held a fundraiser for Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children at the end of every year,' she said. 'Jack is in remission now and is doing well.'

The guests enjoyed festive treats during the interval, and there was also a take home cake sale. Veronica Dennehy also did face painting for all the children in attendance.

Thanks were sent to everyone who made the concert such a success.
