'Buy My Dress' and help Down Syndrome

SINGER Imelda May is this year's celebrity ambassador for the fifth annual Buy My Dress event, in aid of the Down Syndrome Centre. The Charity Dress Sale will take place at several locations nationwide, including The Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey, on Sunday, May 25.
Ladies will be able to pick up a designer gown or even a celebrity donation from as little as €20 on the day. Imelda herself donated a red and black dress she wore on tour in America recently, and the dress will be available to buy for one eagle-eyed shopper somewhere in the country on the day.
'This is just a great opportunity for women up and down the country to grab a bargain at a fraction of the cost – and it's guilt-free shopping, as all proceeds go directly to the Down Syndrome Centre,' said Imelda.
In advance of the dress sales, people are being urged to clear out their wardrobes and donate their once-loved or vintage dresses to any of the 32 Carraig Donn stores around the country.
Carraig Donn is providing the drop off points for this year's campaign, in association with the Down Syndrome Centre and Kelloggs Special K. As an extra thank you, they are offering 10 per cent off a new dress to anyone who brings their donation in store.
