SKERRIES Harps represented Dublin in this year's All-Ireland Intermediate 7-a-side competition in Ratoath last Saturday.
Skerries were drawn in a group containing Leinster champions Eire Og from Wicklow, Galway champions Kilconly and Glenville from Cork with all teams having a panel of 10 players. Harps played Eire Og in their opening game and won on the score 1-9 to 1-7. In the second game of the group, Skerries played Kilconly and after a thrilling match the sides finished level, 1-10 to 3-4. The final game was against Glenville and again Skerries came out on top with Dublin AllIreland Under 21 pair Harry Dawson (pictured right) and Jack Smith doing the damage in a 1-14, Glenville 3-6 win.
Skerries finished runners up in the group on score difference to Kilconly and advanced to the last sixteen where they played Annaclone from County Down and again came out on top, winning by 3-7 to 3-4 to reach the quarter finals. The quarter final was against a star studded team from Moy, Co Tyrone that included current Tyrone senior stars Sean and Colm Kavanagh alongside Phillip Jordan and Ryan Mellon. After another great game the young Skerries side bowed out with their heads high on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-10. Moy went on to win the final, beating Confey from Kildare.
