It was a busy week in the club, with team presentations being held. The U-11 girls kicked off proceedings on Wednesday when they were presented with new tracksuit tops and there was a full house again on Friday evening when the U-7 to U-11 teams received medals and certificates. Santa also made an appearance and all the kids received a selection box. On Saturday night the U-13 to U-15 teams were presented with their medals along with some individual trophies. For the U-13 team, Jack Hussey received Footballer of the Year, with Rian Moore receiving Most Improved, while Donal Clarke was Hurler of the Year and Aaron Hogan Most Improved Hurler. The U-14 team were represented by Aaron Duffy as Player of the Year and David Weir Most Improved Footballer. Last but not least, the U-15 team saw Cormac Howley receive Player of the Year, Most Improved was Rory Harford and a new award this year was for Most Committed Player which went to Eoin Gaffney. Well done to all. A big thank-you goes to everyone involved in these teams, to the players for their commitment to their club and team; to the coaches who give up their free time; and to the parents for all the assistance they give the coaches. It would not have been the successful year it was without all the pieces of the jigsaw. Thanks also to the bar staff this week for helping with the celebrations, and also to those who assisted with the catering of these events. Tickets for our Christmas Draw are now on sale in the bar, with the draw taking place on Saturday next. A Club Night will be held on Friday 28th December from 8.30 onwards in the bar. It is hoped that all team mentors, parents of children playing for the club and members will take this opportunity to get together and have some fun. The club shop is being operated by Anne-Marie Codd and she can be contacted on 0863657200 to view or place an order for any of our club gear. There was no winner of last week's lotto jackpot and the numbers drawn were 2, 18, 23 and 27. €80 went to Brian O'Connor and €40 to Michelle, Jean O'Neill and Sabs Murphy. This week's jackpot will be €2,050. Strictly Come Dancing is coming to Lusk next April in order to raise vital funds for the club. We are delighted that Kevin Rowe Events are helping us with this massive fund-raising drive and it promises to be a fantastic experience for the dancers taking part and also a great night out for all in the audience. The dancers will commence a six-week training schedule early in the new year and many are looking forward to it already. Keep an eye on the Facebook Page Strictly Round-towerslusk for all the updates. Roll on April!! Season's Greetings to all our members, coaches and players - hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

The Executive Committee extends deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Gary Emmett who passed away so suddenly on Thursday last. Gary was a mentor, along with Martin Halpin, to one of our juvenile football and hurling teams from 2004 up until last year. Our thoughts and prayers are with Cathy, Robert and Megan. His funeral mass took place on Monday morning in the Church of the Holy Child, Whitehall. May he Rest in Peace. We also extend sympathies to Con Murphy and all his family on the loss of Con's brother during the week. The Christmas Social Night, which was postponed last week, will now take place this Friday in Peacocks' function toom at 9pm. We will have some music and craic and show our appreciation to the many mentors and coaches who made our successful year possible. The Christmas Grand Prize Draw will also take place on Friday night. Don't forget to put our 'Mock Wedding' in your new 2013 diary. The wedding will take place on 16th February 2013 and promises to be an absolutely funpacked day with plenty of surprises. Tickets for the wedding are €50 and will include a four-course meal, entertainment from a gospel choir, a live band and DJ late into the night.
