Fingallians will be competing in this year's Scór na nÓg competition final this Tuesday evening in the Craobh Chiaráin club (beside Parnell Park). Our Friday Night Social Football is going from strength to strength and again we are looking to grow our numbers. At 8pm each week we would like to invite new members in the 35-year + bracket. Footballers please note: Mouthguards (gumshields) must be worn in all football matches and training sessions from 1st January 2013 for all grades, up to and including minor. Hard luck to our Under-21 team who were beaten by Oliver Plunketts in the championship on Saturday. Hard luck also to the Under-13 girls who were beaten by a great Scoil Ui Chonaill team in the league final to finish runners-up. Well done on reaching the final. Well done to our Under-21 footballers who defeated Clan na Gael to qualify for the next round of the championship. This was a fantastic performance by a group of players who have put in a lot of hard work over the last few weeks. We wish a speedy recovery to Eric Stears who suffered an injury during the game. Congratulations also to our Under-13 ladies football team who won their league. This is the third consecutive year that these girls have won the league. Congratulations to Portmarnock Community School on winning the Dublin Under-16 Hurling title. Virtually all of the team are club players and they richly deserved the title. Round Towers Lusk

A big thank-you to all who came out to support the Under-7, Under8 and Under-9 table quiz last Friday night in the bar. It was a very enjoyable and successful evening, all thanks to the hard work of our superb quizmaster John Donovan. All funds raised will be split between the three teams. The presentation evening for the U13s-U16s has been postponed until December 15th. Further details will follow. The club will be running a Gaelic Football and Hurling Foundation Course on 7th and 8th December in the club. Friday evening's session will be from 7.30 - 10pm, while Saturday is 10am - 4.30pm. There was disappointment for the Cuchulainn Minors on Sunday as they were beaten by four points after extra time in their quarter-final game against Naomh Iosolde. Congratulations to CuChulainn U-15s who beat Erins Isle 4-10 to 36 in the play-off for second place in their league recently. There were great performances all round to finish a great year on a high and we led from start to finish, with Cormac Howley scoring 2-6. Well done to all the lads and coaches. A big fund-raising drive will take place in the club next year and will see Strictly Come Dancing come to Round Towers Lusk. Congratulations to Robbie Callanan who was elected to the post of club chairman for 2013 at our agm during the week. Other significant appointments include Mark Degnan taking over as treasurer and Stephen Carslake being confirmed as manager of our senior football team. Our Christmas Grand Prize Draw, first prize €1,000, takes place on December 13th. Tickets are available from any committee member or team mentor. The Christmas Fair is being held on December 15th and we are looking for people to take a stall. Santa will be visiting the fair and we will also be launching the club calendar. The Holy Family SNS senior girls were playing in their Cumann Na mBunscol final in Croke Park yesterday (Monday). As part of our 30th year anniversary next year we are hosting a 'Mock Wedding'. The wedding will take place on 16th February 2013 and promises to be an absolutely fun-packed day with plenty of surprises. Tickets for the wedding are €50 and will include a four-course meal, entertainment from a gospel choir, a live band and DJ late into the night. There will also be lots of great prizes to be won on the night. Numbers drawn in last week's club lotto were 13, 18, 20, 24. The U-14 St Maurs/O'Dwyer's camogie team won a very important match in Lucan on a freezing cold Saturday morning - 6-4 to 1-1. This sees the girls joint leaders in their group and heading to a threeway play-off to decide the league title next weekend. All their hard work and persistence is paying off - well done girls. Scorers on the day were Nicola Thorne, Niamh Kirby, Megan O'Mahony, Ona Keegan, Ann Casey and Eimear Conway. Congratulations to the Maurs Minor footballers who have qualified for the championship semi. Our senior football team suffered an agonising one-point defeat to Na Fianna in the league final. Two single-score losses shouldn't detract from a very good year of excellent performances and results. Congratulations to Na Fianna who lost in last year's final. In the Minor Fooball Championship Mark Hazley scored the vital late point to earn a draw against St Vincents, while Colm Byrne contributed the second-half goal to bring us back into contention. The result leaves us at the top of a very competitive group. The Minor hurlers play St Oliver Plunkett's next Sunday morning at 11am in the quarter-final of the championship. The under 21 hurlers play away to Parnells in Chanel next Saturday at 2.15 in the quarter-final of their championship. At juvenile level the Under-14B team won their league with a convincing victory in their final match. John Maughan lived up to his name, steering his team to produce a big performance when it mattered most. Well done to everyone involved. The clubhouse has been very tastefully renovated.
