STEPHEN Smith hit seven for Skerries in the the second game of their campaign at Mourneview on Sunday. He took just ten minutes to register his hat-trick and the first goal was the pick of the seven when he rifled in off the crossbar to get Skerries off to a terrific start. Smith benefited greatly from the service of Eril Cawley who played in some terrific balls while Alan Joyce who scored a late equaliser for Skerries in their first game had another good game in midfield. Overall things are going well for Skerries. Centre halves Barry McDonald and Ciaran Mullen are surviving members from the original seven-a-side team and they certainly hold the team together with Colm Cunneene slotting in nicely at right full. Credit must also go to Clontarf who battled gamely throughout with Sean Magee needing to pull off fine some saves in the latter stages as Clontarf rallied.
