THE spoils were shared on a glorious day at Loughshinny Park as the home side were left to rue a missed opportunity.
Loughshinny were in complete control for almost the entire game, but a goalkeeping blunder and some wasteful finishing cost them dearly.
Paul McMahon had a great game in the Merrion goal and saved his side a couple of times, before Denis O'Reilly popped up at the other end to open the scoring for the visitors. Loughshinny replied when a fine through-ball by Ryan Fagan was finished by Scott Penco, but five minutes later a mistake by Barry Turner let in O'Reilly for his second goal of the game.
Again Loughshinny responded and just before half-time Kieran McKittrick found the top corner, but the Fingal side missed several gilt-edge chances in the second period and were forced to settle for a point.
